About Us

I’m Kathryn Thompson and I’ve lived in Duvall since 2006. My family of five moved here from Redmond in search of a bigger yard and less expensive home. We didn’t do a ton of research but we liked how Duvall felt so we took the leap.

It didn’t take us long to fall in love with the Snoqualmie Valley and the Duv.

We love the sense of community, the feeling of geographical isolation while still being fairly close to everything, the gorgeous landscape and quaint downtown, the small town feel.

I’ve been blogging professionally for several years and I’ve been searching for The Next Thing to blog about. So, I asked myself the questions, “What am I passionate about?” and “What do I yammer about constantly?”

Duvall.

I constantly talk to friends and family about our city, why I love it, how lucky I feel to live here. When you come to this site, you can expect to find information about our community, background on some of our interesting character and customs, and all kinds of other soft-hitting news stories.
